As I said OEM software is invariably crap and this “Beta” was no exception. The linked driver (7uw706ww, version N° is working in Windows 7 on my Thinkpad X301 without any additional software installed - whereas the latest driver from the Lenovo homepage (83wo12ww, peter May 11, 2013 at 5:30 am thanks to this i found the probably latest driver (v6.3.3.6) for the mentioned hw: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-75686 - search for 83Wo12WW. One rason could be that I have a ThinkPad SL500 with Windows7 Ulitmate!??? check my blog

For my provider, Dodo, I had to untick the “Let Wireless Manager Choose the Connection Profile” and then I created a new profile, and put the Access Point Name (APN) in Overall I am happy with the new drivers – it’s certainly a better way to integrate with Windows, and the connection seems to be much more reliable.
